The Resource Manager is responsible for leading resourcing processes across our Professional Services team.  Oversee sourcing and identifying potential resources for project management, instructional designers, lab development, and subject matter experts. Serve as the point of contact for proactively resourcing projects based on scoped efforts, project timeline, skills and task requirements, current utilization/project allocations. 

Responsibilities

  • Establish a disciplined process for resourcing custom development projects with a systematic approach to determining resourcing needs (i.e., requirements) and proposing creative solutions. 
  • Balance full-time employees with contracted team members to maximize utilization, margin, and time to market while maintaining appropriate flexibility.  
  • Maintain a centralized database of contractor and internal resource profiles, including skills (as assessed by team leads), hourly rate, availability, time zones, and contact information. 
  • Accurately match resources to project needs based on skill fit, availability, and project timelines.  Projects may include scored hands-on learning experiences, custom learning programs, certification and practice exams, traditional hands-on labs, customer event services, sales enablement training and tools, etc. 
  • Collaborate with leadership to proactively forecast and fulfill resourcing needs.  
  • Serve as the primary liaison for vendor companies supplying contract resources and participate in negotiations as needed. 
  • Track and manage onboarding (contracting), compliance, and performance of external contractors. 
  • Perform regular capacity analysis to inform resourcing, hiring, and contractor engagement decisions. 
  • Partner with Finance and team leadership to ensure accurate time tracking and budget alignment. 
  • Serve as a secondary resource related to billing and invoicing needs across Professional Services. 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of resourcing processes, tooling, and data. 
  • Provide regular updates and reports to leadership on resourcing status, risks, and opportunities. 
  • Support Professional Services planning cycles and reporting. 
  • Support and promote the company values through positive interactions with both internal and external partners and customers on a regular basis. 
  • Other strategic business initiatives or cross-functional project involvement as required. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (product management, marketing, business, finance, product development, project management, etc.) 
  • 5+ years of experience in resource management within a Professional Services or consulting environment. 
  • Working knowledge of technical terminology and ability to quickly become “conversationally competent” with a wide variety of technical and learning industry terms.  
  • Ability to forge and maintain positive working relationships. 
  • Ability to create - and iterate on - operational standards and processes. 
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail. 
  • Desire to work – and ability to flourish – at an extremely fast pace.  
  • Proven ability to manage both the strategy and the details of many concurrent initiatives.  
  • Familiarity with contractor/vendor management and time tracking systems. 
  • Experience in the IT training and certification industry and understanding of technical content development, job/task analysis, and Instructional Design is preferred.  
  • Ability to take ownership and action based on project and team needs. 
  • Naturally inquisitive with a desire to solve problems and dig into detailed analysis. 
  • Negotiation experience a plus.  
  • Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with various audiences/levels including leadership through various mediums. 
  • Ability to take a complex product/financial/pricing issue(s)/problem(s) and deconstruct them into a concise, impactful message(s). 
  • Thorough understanding (or willingness to learn expeditiously) of business operations and processes. 
  • Comfortable working with complex data sets and queries. 
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multilple workstreams and meet project deadlines. 
  • Interest and ability in mentoring other team members as applicable. 
  • Strong MS Office, web conferencing and internal communication software experience. 

Salary Range

The base salary for this position is $90,000 - $115,000 annually. Consistent with applicable laws, compensation will be determined based on the candidate's level, relevant skills, qualifications, and experience along with requirements for the position and annual financial plans. 

Skillable is a distributed first team with employees working across the U.S., and we do not consider geography when determining compensation ranges. 

Please note that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. Skillable reserves the right to modify this compensation range at any time. 

Pay range and current benefit offerings are effective for 90 days from posting date.  Standard employment offerings are subject to potential change upon periodic review and analysis, at the discretion of Skillable.

Working Conditions:

The job conditions for this position are in a remote home office setting, requiring a space that supports privacy and focus to attend to regular and frequent video and voice calls. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Periodic travel may be required equaling up to approximately 10% of the time.
