Job Description

Position : Contract Specialist (Contract Analysist)

Organization

• Function : Legal (Contract Management)
• Country : Norway, Germany, France, USA (Any G&T Country as required)
• Location :  Oslo, Paris or any Nexans G&T location.
• Supervisor : Director – Contract Management

Context

This role will be a part of the Generation and Transmission (G&T) Business Group, which designs, manufactures and installs high voltage land and subsea cables for some of the world’s largest interconnector and renewable energy projects in the world.

The G&T Business Group comprises a mix of offices and factories located in Oslo, Halden, Rognan (Norway), Paris (France), New York City, Charleston (USA), Charleroi (Belgium) and Futtsu (Japan) and is part of the Nexans Group, with its headquarter in Paris

Role

• The Contract Specialist will be part of a project team and support by overseeing and supporting all commercial and contract related activities for the allocated projects.

Areas Of Responsibility

• Support by Facilitating Contract Review during project establishment - and contract awareness as well as contract management strategies during the execution phase
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and managing any contractual changes
• Reviews and drafts correspondence taking into consideration Clients rights and obligations, Nexans rights and obligations and expectations, including profitability requirements and impact on schedule and Internal procedures, including the Nexans Management System
• Manages Variation Orders (VOR/VO) and Claims
• Manages Disputes
• Collaborating with the project teams to identify and mitigate contractual risks
• Assisting in the management of claims and disputes related to the contract
• Assist Project with reporting in accordance with Contract and stakeholder requirements
• Capture and share commercial lessons leared during project execution

Expected Results

• Contractual leadership throughout project execution – maintain focus on articles and conditions for the main contract - and the contracts towards sub-contractors/suppliers
• Deliver projects within agreed use of time, cost and quality
• Focus on opportunities and turn opportunities into positive results
• Limitation and mitigation of Project risks
• Full coordination with legal function and other Contract Managers
• Effective Stakeholder communication

   

Required skills and qualifications 

• University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Law, Finance, Business, Engineering).
• Some industry knowledge and experience
• Strong communication and negotiation skills for interactions with regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment
• Take Responsibility, Global Team Player, High Standards,
• Risk awareness and Business acumen
• Ability to deal with customers and internally in challenging situations
• Be responsive, practical, ability to make people understand your position; ability to listen and create consensus
