An Exciting Opportunity Awaits!
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Data Platform Specialist to join our team at our Steinbach or Winnipeg branches. As a Senior Data Platform Specialist, you will deliver integrated business solutions by implementing and maintaining the infrastructure to support data pipelines and/or ETL processes, and construct data models to support business needs.
Specific Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver data pipelines, datasets, automation tools, recommendations or alternatives that address existing and/or potential business needs
- Responsible for pipeline maintenance and research on software products to justify recommendations and/or support purchasing efforts
- Build, format, and modify data models from various information systems for report developers, validating accuracy and resolving data integrity issues as needed
- Conduct data analysis for understanding business requirements and ensure the availability of clean, high-quality data for reporting
- Optimize data processes to ensure quality, scalability, reliability, and performance. Suggest any improvements to be made to existing infrastructure and pipelines
- Assist with various corporate initiatives and projects by providing technical support
- Collaborate with internal members to identify and determine requirements for new developments, application enhancements, and/or process automation needs
- Support staff providing on-going assistance or training to end users for all modified and new applications
Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Degree specializing in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering or a related discipline
- 5 or more years of job-related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with system analysis and system life cycle management methodologies.
- Working Knowledge of programming languages, data pipeline, and data model development methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in reporting software, such as Crystal Reports/SSRS/PowerBI
- Linux Server Experience (would be considered an asset).
- Software Troubleshooting Experience.
- Technical Skills and Programming Languages. Experience in SQL, JAVA, JAVA EE, Python, JAVA Middleware, Enterprise Databases (RDBMS).
