Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
In alignment with Unified Community Connections’ mission, the Finance Specialist will:
- Ensure that individuals’ benefits are used appropriately to meet their current needs.
- Complete and submit annual payee reports detailing fund management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for each individual.
- Utilize the Residential Fund Management Service to issue checks or initiate online payments for bills.
- Communicate with vendors regarding individual accounts and payments.
- Process fund requests submitted on behalf of individuals.
- Monitor and manage funds available on individuals’ debit cards.
- Prepare and submit invoices for room & board, cable, and CTC (if applicable) to the assigned representative payee.
- Provide responsive customer service to individuals, ensuring their funds align with personal preferences and maintain eligibility for benefits.
- Assist in setting up ABLE accounts as needed.
- Reimburse family members or designated persons for purchases made on behalf of the individual, when appropriate.
- Maintain comprehensive files for each individual by scanning, copying, and filing documentation.
- Make bank deposits as required.
- Distribute weekly account balance reports for each individual.
- Distribute reports detailing active Unified debit card fund requests.
- Perform general clerical tasks such as shredding, copying, and scanning.
Support and complete other financial tasks as needed.

Qualifications: To successfully perform this job, the employee must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential task. The specific requirements listed below represent most of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to fulfill requirements of the position.
Must be able to demonstrate skills in the following areas: problem solving, project/task management, time management, dependability, good judgment, safe work practices, and ensuring confidentiality. Ability to travel and work effectively with others.
Education: High School Diploma or GED. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and written correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with others including individuals served by Unified (as appropriate), co-workers, and vendors both verbally and in written form.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and measure.
Computer Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft applications and electronic records system (training provided).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Successful completion of various training courses offered by Unified, as scheduled, but no later than no later than first ninety (90) days of employment. Attend additional in-service training as required.
Training: Must complete, pass and maintain all DDA required training. Must complete, pass, and maintain all Unified Community Connections trainings including, UKG, I-Care Manager, LTSS, RFSM, Fundamental Rights and Supporting Choice, PORII/QA/Sexual Harassment-DDA, Bloodborne Pathogens, Communicable Diseases, Sexual Harassment, Workplace Violence, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Introduction to Unified upon hire and on a recurring basis as requested or required.
Work Environment: Office setting with varying degrees of background noise. Light and ventilation as found in typical office settings. At Unified, we are committed to providing a safe working environment for all employees and to prevent all work-related injuries and illnesses.
