Job Description

The Opportunity: 
As Retail Asset Protection Manager, leads the asset protection team at our New York American Girl Store to ensures the safety of all American Girl guests and employees by ensuring the implementation and execution of safety programs and initiatives. This position reports to the North America Security Director and is part of the store leadership team. The Retail Asset Protection Manager partners closely with store leaders as well as internal and external partners to ensure safe and secure day to day operations.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Provides leadership and guidance to our American Girl Asset Protection team members employees at assigned locations
  • Enforce Mattel Global Security Department Best Practices and adhere to US Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program recommendations. This includes protecting the organization’s physical property, assets, and personnel from theft, damage, harm, unlawful activities, etc.
  • Prevent the loss of company assets by being alert and identifying suspicious internal or external customer activities.
  • Coordinate the work of the Asset Protection employees in the performance of security and related tasks, as outlined in the Contingency Operations and S.O.P. manuals.
  • Responsible administration of department including but not limited to, staffing, scheduling, payroll, coordinating work, employee performance, training and development.
  • Ensure Incident Management Program is implemented and followed.
  • Conduct incident investigations, audits, and inspection and compile reporting. 
  • Drive awareness and compliance of all EH&S initiatives. 
  • Respond to fire/first aid emergencies and facilitate EHSS processes.
  • Develop and update processes and SOP’s as needed
  • Participate or lead additional projects as assigned
  • Supports AG retail boutique locations
  • This is an onsite position and does not qualify for hybrid or remote work

Qualifications

What We’Re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience leading a team of security personnel in a retail environment required.
  • Holds required state security license or can obtain required state security license.
  • Must have a valid US driver’s license
  • Must be certified in First Aid, CPR, and Blood-borne Pathogens, (annual training provided) or have the ability to obtain certification.

Skills And Abilities

  • Advanced computer knowledge, including but not limited to: Microsoft office suite, IBM based systems, CCTV programs, access control systems, mobile devices (iOS), etc., required.
  • Knowledge of physical security best practices, required.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various internal and external partners.
  • Understanding of state specific licensing, training, uniform and record retention requirements.
  • Ability to source and coordinate with vendors, site business partners and department leadership to resolve complex issues, manage projects and conduct investigations regarding physical security and site safety.
  • Read, analyze and interpret general business policies, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and processes and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
