Job Description
The Corporate Legal Department of Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. is seeking a full-time Corporate Contracts Administrator to be based at its Global Headquarters reporting to the Senior Director of Global Legal Services. The role involves leading the administrative functions associated with our transactional team, including assisting in managing the contracts database, drafting and reviewing standard form documents, and helping the team meet organizational goals and requirements, in addition to supporting departmental team initiatives.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Taking ownership of ensuring an efficient, accurate and complete contract administration function, including record-keeping, metrics, data analytics, and contract portfolio analyses.
- Leading and/or supporting technology and business process improvement initiatives and projects.
- Reviewing and revising confidentiality agreements in line with the company’s established standards.
- Providing support to business personnel regarding contractual documents and questions, including for bid responses.
- Managing contracts database/repository, including periodic reporting on key contract metrics.
- Preparing and drafting standard contract documents.
- Assisting with review of standard form contractual documents.
- Assisting with and preparing business responses to customer inquiries and questions.
- Checking and editing legal forms and documents for accuracy.
- Managing third-party support projects, including work flow optimization and prioritization.
- Performing legal and factual research and data analysis.
- Organizing, analyzing and validating information, and preparing written reports and correspondence.
- Organizing, scanning and filing contract documents, records and related files.
- Managing centralized contracts database; tracking compliance.
- Collaborating with team-members in Seattle-area and overseas locations.
- Providing general office and administrative support, including backup support to other administrative team members.
Qualifications
Experience
- Intermediate knowledge of legal principles and practices
- Intermediate knowledge of legal terminology
- Thorough knowledge of legal and business communication principles and practices
- Relevant computer knowledge and experience (with a focus on Word, Excel and Adobe)
- Desired but not required: Prior experience with contract management software; prior experience in a law firm or in-house legal department

Additional Information
A successful candidate must pass Expeditors’ pre-employment background check.
Expected base salary: $63,000 - $72,000
