Job Description
Brightspeed is looking for a Manager, Network Operations to join our team! As the Manager of Network Operations, you will lead a team responsible for the activation, augmentation, maintenance, and optimization of Brightspeed’s broadband and Ethernet networks. You will ensure operational excellence by managing network element lifecycle activities, including circuit turn-ups, network grooming, capacity upgrades and software upgrades. This role includes accountability for operational reporting and metrics, weekly team meetings, monthly one-on-one sessions, and performance management activities such as feedback, appraisals, and salary administration. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new technology deployments, network modernization, and strategic initiatives while promoting team collaboration and technical leadership.
As a Manager, Network Operations your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing broadband and Ethernet network operations to ensure timely and accurate service delivery
- Managing activation and augmentation activities, including DSLAM/OLT and Ethernet routers/switches
- Ensuring accurate and efficient execution of network grooming, capacity upgrades, and decommissioning processes
- Providing and reviewing monthly reports to management on team performance
- Developing KPIs, scorecards, and analytics reporting to track and report individual and team performance
- Conducting weekly team meetings and monthly one-on-one syncs to align priorities, provide feedback, and support career development
- Performing management of team including regular feedback, annual appraisals, and salary administration
- Balancing multiple priorities and initiate innovative solutions to streamline processes
- Providing technical leadership and support team members with day-to-day problem resolution
- Understanding and explaining complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Driving process improvements and lead special projects to enhance network performance, scalability, and efficiency
- Partnering with engineering, planning, and other teams to ensure successful implementation of new technologies and strategic initiatives
- Occasional travel required to meet with employees and leadership.
Qualifications
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Networking, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of experience in network operations, including at least 4 years in a leadership role
- Possess strong technical knowledge of broadband and Ethernet protocols
- Demonstrate proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Exhibit excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experienced with operational reporting tools and data analysis
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools
- Familiarity with vendor platforms such as Nokia, Cisco, Juniper, Calix, Adtran, or similar
- Project management experience in telecommunications
