Sr Power BI Developer

Job Summary

TekniPlex is seeking a highly skilled Power BI Developer with exceptional UI/UX design skills to transform complex datasets into clear, compelling, and actionable insights. This role will partner with business leaders, business analysts and IT team to deliver enterprise grade dashboards and visualization solutions that drive decision making.

The developer is responsible for gathering requirements, design, development, and testing of any new Power BI Reports. This role will focus on providing value-added analysis and recommendations to support the business goal.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Architect, design and develop advanced Power BI dashboards, reports and data models that deliver intuitive, high impact insights.
• Lead requirement gathering, dashboard design/wireframing, development and testing by collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements and final product.
• Apply UI/UX best practices to ensure data visualizations are not only accurate but also intuitive and engaging.
• Implement and maintain DAX calculations, Power Query transformations, and dataflows.
• Optimize visual performance, query efficiency, and reporting workflows.
• Promote the adoption of self-service analytics and contribute to data governance efforts.
• Serve as subject-matter expert on Power BI and visualization strategy.
• Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and governance standards.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and promote continuous improvement within the BI function.
• Write and maintain technical documentation for both new and existing systems.
• Monitor production dashboards, resolve bugs, and provide timely support.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and version control tools in a BI context.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines.
• Adherence to all Company Safety Rules and Regulations.

• QUALIFICATIONS
• • 5+ years professional experience in Power BI development and enterprise data visualization.
• • Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
• • Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL.
• • Hands-on experience integrating data from multiple sources (on-prem, cloud, hybrid environments).
• • Proven expertise in UI/UX design principles including layout, color theory and interaction design.
• • Experience in Python or R highly preferred.
• • Knowledge of financial, sales and operational reporting concepts.
• • Experience working in agile environments and partnering with cross functional skills.
• • Clear and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• • Must have the ability to work under minimal supervision with demonstration of initiative and independent judgement.
• • Experience collaborating with offshore teams.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to author reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and customers.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Salary range of $95,000 to $110,000
