In this role, you’ll be accountable for delivering (infrastructure) automation solutions—whether buying or building—that address evolving broadcast demands (SDI today; software‑defined/IP and cloud tomorrow) while maintaining exceptional reliability. You’ll continuously improve our technology services by strengthening observability, driving standardization, and adopting a platform approach that turns common broadcast capabilities into reusable, governed services—raising SLOs and reducing unit costs.

Job Description

Automation

In this role, you'll be responsible for implementing automation for repetitive workflows in our studios, master control room, production control rooms, and playout setup. While doing so, you'll ensure that the overall Service Level Objectives, in our case few errors on-air, are improved.

Cross-Functional Broadcast Team

This role is part of a self-organized, cross department broadcast services team within Red Bull Media House. As a part of the team, you'll be accountable for the entire lifecycle of all broadcast services and continuously strive to deliver high class productions, live events, linear channels and more to the World of Red Bull and ServusTV.

Working With Partners

As part of our dedicated broadcast team you’ll manage service operations for broadcast services . This includes coordination and collaboration with our external service providers and operations partners as well as software engineering, continuous service improvement, problem management, monitoring and KPI reporting, management of demands, request fulfilments and change requests. You’ll create and maintain service documentation and SOPs. In addition, you’ll also be fulfilling 2nd or 3rd level support when needed, also participating in an on-duty rotation (business hours) shared across the broadcast team members.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience building & maintaining automations and integrations between services/systems preferably in the media industry  (f.e. Skyline Data Miner or equivalent)
  • Experience with public clouds, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, infrastructure automation in a traditional on-premises environment
  • Hands-on experience in automating tasks, covering software engineering fundamentals (like version control, merge requests, clean code, testing, and so on)
  • Understanding of service levels (SLIs/SLOs) and KPIs, and how to tie them to operational outcomes.
  • Open minded (growth mind-set) & entrepreneurial thinking , passionate about the Media World
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and to communicate effectively with internal and external partners. Self-organized (we have an agile setup)
  • Ability to recognize complex relationships and present them understandably.
  • Approachable (helping others where help is needed) & hands-on.
  • You are aware of broadcast standards like SMPTE ST 2110, ST 2059/PTP, AMWA NMOS
  • Act as a Product Owner by creating user stories, defining spring goals etc.
  • Don’t be scared to try AI

Additional Information

Due to legal reasons, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary according to the collective agreement for this position, which is € 2446 gross per month. However, our attractive compensation package is based on market-oriented salaries and is therefore significantly above the stated minimum salary.
