Description
A postdoctoral opening is immediately available in the Zerra Lab in the Department of Pathology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. Our lab studies the initiating immune events in the response to blood-borne therapeutics, including red blood cells and factor VIII, using a combination of pre-clinical mouse models and patient samples. The underlying goal is to identify novel targets for the prevention of antibody development against these therapeutics to improve patient outcomes. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated scientist with a Ph.D. and/or M.D. with an interest in hematology and/or transfusion medicine, a strong background in immunology and the ability to work well both independently and with others on a team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc) in an appropriate field.
- Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.
- Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.
NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
