Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

CNBC is looking for an experienced Tape Associate Producer for Mad Money

Responsibilities:

  • Straight cut video and work with editors on cutting compelling video
  • Assist producers with desktop editing
  • Gather elements
  • Viewing all video and ensure quality before air
  • Explaining edit instructions in detail on script
  • Collaborate with the social media team to create compelling content
  • Pitching story ideas (day-of, next day, futures)
  • Curate and edit archival footage, creating cohesive and engaging narratives that celebrate the history and milestones of the show.
  • Collaborate with directors, editors, writers, and the creative team to conceptualize and develop story arcs and special segments.
  • Source, organize, and manage archival material, ensuring all rights and usage permissions are in place.
  • Work closely with the production team to coordinate logistics, schedules, and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of the project.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality, creativity, and consistency in all content produced.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the production process, ensuring smooth execution.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Must have at least 2 years’ production experience
  • Must be proficient with Desktop editing

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro) and familiarity with archival research and rights management.
  • Ability to enterprise, research and plan stories
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of team members and talent.
  • Wide-range reader of business finance news

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY or New Jersey 
  • Schedule is Monday- Friday
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news
