Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

E! News is seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Coordinator to join our fast-paced, collaborative social media team. This role is responsible for programming and producing content across E! News’ social platforms, including sub-brands such as Kards Katch Up and E! Insider. 

We’re looking for someone with a deep passion for pop culture and entertainment, strong editorial and news judgement, and a sharp understanding of digital storytelling. The ideal candidate is fluent in social media trends, thrives in breaking news situations, and has hands-on experience creating content that drives engagement and builds community. 

Responsibilities:

  • Program and publish timely, engaging, and platform-specific content across E! News' social platforms. 
  • Write clear, accurate, and grammatically correct copy that reflects E! News’ brand voice and resonates with our audience. 
  • Collaborate with editorial and digital video teams to program content that responds to breaking celebrity and entertainment news in real time. 
  • Edit and produce social-first content, including short-form video clips and custom graphics using tools such as Adobe Premiere and Photoshop. 
  • Work with team members to execute live social coverage of major entertainment events (e.g., awards shows, Met Gala, red carpets). 
  • Capture and publish on-site content at events and red carpets when required. 
  • Monitor and react to real-time social trends and conversations, ensuring E! News remains timely and relevant. 

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in digital publishing, social media, or entertainment news. 
  • Experience programming brand social accounts, with knowledge of tools like Meta Business Suite, Dash Social, and True Anthem. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Premiere. 
  • Strong editorial judgment and understanding of what drives engagement on social media. 

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while juggling multiple priorities. 
  • Comfortable working both in a newsroom setting and on-location at events. 

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, in support of live event coverage and breaking news. 
  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
