Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

We are seeking a strategic, data-savvy Manager of Business Operations to join the Operations & Technology team, supporting the NBCUniversal News Group. This role is based out of Rockefeller Center (NYC) and will have a hybrid/onsite presence of 4-5 days per week.

This role offers a balance of business analytics, operational leadership, and occasional generalist responsibilities. You’ll lead a small team of Business Analysts, help operations leads to define meaningful KPIs, drive reporting and dashboarding efforts, streamline operations, and liaise with client services for onsite departmental needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Data & Analytics program for the division, drive a consistent cadence of quality, reliability, and performance reporting.
  • Manage and mentor a team of two Business Analysts, oversee project prioritization, career development, and performance management.
  • Define, track, and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with business objectives; ensure KPIs are specific, actionable and relevant; partner with cross-functional teams, leadership, and operating committees to define relevant metrics and performance frameworks.
  • Partner with the SVP, Operations and VP, Business Operations to prioritize reporting needs and lead operational reviews across business streams.
  • Provide data-informed insights and recommendations to drive process improvement and increase organizational effectiveness; Partner with division leads to identify opportunities or issues that could impact the organization’s ability to effectively achieve our operational reliability and performance goals.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to support operational transparency and decision-making; drive the team to prioritize, automate, and align reporting toolsets into enterprise-owned and scalable solutions.
  • Create and deliver executive-level presentations, including performance reviews, trend analyses, and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Enablement team and internal stakeholders on knowledge management and operational documentation efforts; Create documentation, inclusive of technical SOPs, to record key operational processes.
  • Engage with enterprise data teams and systems (e.g., Snowflake) to orchestrate access and consistency to accurate and actionable data.
  • Occasional generalist responsibilities will require working cross-functionally on administrative requests, onsite facilities, A/V, and IT coordination, and general business operations support.

Qualifications

Eligibility Requirements:

  • B.A. or equivalent experience; background in industrial engineering, operations management, management science or business administration preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role or capacity, experience managing a team preferred
  • Willingness to work outside standard hours, and on weekends with short notice
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

Desired Characteristics And Additional Considerations:

  • Drive results by fostering an "automate and simplify" mentality toward addressing information management and reporting; Embody a passion for turning data into actionable insight and for process optimization through automation.
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and a collaborative mindset. Strong presentation skills are a must.
  • Hands-on experience with reporting, warehousing and visualization tools (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, Snowflake, Domo, etc); Experience defining and managing KPIs and performance frameworks.
  • Flexibility to pivot from one discipline to the next, while managing multiple concurrent projects of varying caliber/complexity; Proven ability to manage a large workload, prioritize and deliver high quality output is essential.

Additional Information

This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.
