Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. Job Description

E! News digital is hiring an Associate Digital Video Producer/Editor to join our fast-paced news video editorial team. The ideal candidate is creative, adaptable, and quick at writing, producing and editing digital video content. The role is responsible for producing digital entertainment news content for O&O, social and mobile platforms.

The Associate Producer/Editor will pitch, script, report and source information, collect assets, produce and edit video under tight deadlines. Experience in entertainment news video production with strong video editing skills and an understanding of digital-first storytelling are required. This role will report to the Senior Producer, News Video.

On-camera talent is not required for this role, but experience producing behind the camera, working on red carpets and conducting interviews at entertainment events is a plus.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Create 4+ digital video stories per day under tight, news-driven deadlines.
  • Cut short form digital video in under 3 hours from end-to-end: Reporting, scripting, collecting assets/b-roll, tracking VO editing and publishing to necessary platforms.
  • Edit with ease in Adobe Premiere. AfterEffects and AVID experience a plus.
  • Collaborate with E!’s social and editorial teams to create highly sharable content.
  • Optimize sound, lighting and graphics; add transitions, text and export final videos.
  • Write strong, factual, entertainment news scripts for news packages.
  • Create SEO-drive headlines and descriptions that maximize video views across E! platforms.
  • Conduct and produce interviews (field or virtual), including scripting, editing, and writing a companion article.
  • Serve as producer/editor on assigned projects such as weekly series, mashups, long-form edits, show clips and more.
  • Partner with booking and post-production teams as needed.
  • Pitch creative content ideas that drive video views, traffic and engagement.
  • Maintain a level of professionalism with talent.
  • Manage multiple projects on parallel timelines.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA or BS from a four year accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year of experience producing digital news end-to-end.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects).
  • Strong Photoshop skills.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Collaborative team player with the ability to contribute independently.
  • Creative storyteller who can identify entertainment trends and create innovative ways to tell a compelling story.
  • Strong camera skills, including HDV shooting.
  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills; ability to self-edit when necessary.
  • Proven ability to work and thrive under tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of digital metrics (page views, video view and audience growth).
  • Red carpet experience: Ability to interview celebrity talent with smart, news-driven questions. Ability to then turn content into digital videos.
  • On-camera presence is not required, but experience field producing and reporting on red carpets at entertainment events is a plus.

Additional Information:

  • Salary range: $65,000 - $80,000
