Software Engineer - Mobile SDK (Android)

Datadog, a global SaaS leader in digital transformation and cloud monitoring, is seeking a Software Engineer to work on their Mobile SDK (Android), as part of the Client Observability and Onboarding Platform team. Based in Madrid, Spain, this role is part of the rapidly growing Real User Monitoring (RUM) product, which provides end-to-end visibility into user activity and experience across web and mobile platforms.

You'll be joining a multicultural, remote-friendly environment, collaborating with product, backend, and frontend UI teams. Your primary responsibility will be maintaining and developing new components for the Datadog Android SDK, which is used worldwide by customers. Working on the SDK, you will be helping thousands of developers to better understand what happens on their apps and how they are being used by their own customers.

The ideal candidate should have significant experience in Java/Kotlin, value code simplicity and performance, and possess strong familiarity with Android APIs and ecosystems. You should be comfortable debugging complex issues in various setups and be prepared to write code that is robust, well-architected, and isolated to work in diverse environments.

What You’Ll Do:

• Developing and maintaining the Datadog Android SDK
• Work closely with the backend, frontend and product teams to deliver the best-in-class RUM product
• Contribute to the improvement our engineering tooling and practices
• Write code in the public eye, being the face of Datadog inside the community.

Who You Are:

• Significant experience in Java/Kotlin,
• Strong familiarity with Android APIs and ecosystems. 
• You should be comfortable debugging complex issues in various setups and be prepared to write code that is robust, well-architected, and isolated to work in diverse environments.
• You value code simplicity and performance
