Job Description

As a Commis Chef you will assist with the kitchen operations, servicing the Restaurant, Events. You will report to the Chef de Cuisine who oversees Japanese kitchen operations. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare and cook high quality food
  • Helping to create good communication between FOH and BOH
  • Keep the kitchen organized and clean
  • Supporting the Chef de Partie and other chefs with their duties, sometimes rotating stations to assist various chefs
  • Safely operating, maintaining, and overseeing the proper use of kitchen equipment
  • Assisting with the plating and presentation of dishes to meet hotel standards
  • Complying with health codes, food safety, and hygiene standards at all times

Qualifications

  • Hold relevant Certificate cookery qualifications and previous experience in a similar role
  • Have knowledge about Japanese Kitchen
  • Have knowledge and understanding of HACCP 
  • Be flexible to work a range of different shifts, including weekends
  • Be able to work under pressure within a dynamic team environment
  • Be self-motivated and able to work without supervision
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
