 The Cash-Ops Cashier is responsible for maintaining an accurate count of all items in their banks that have a cash value, these items include but are not limited to, cash, coins, chips, and checks. They ensure that all guidelines are meet as they relate to gaming regulations, pursuant to the (NIGC) Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), State Gaming Compact and all Policy & Procedure, Tribal Internal Controls Standards (TICS), and as they pertain to the gaming operations, the mission and objectives of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe and the Otoe-Missouria Development Authority (OMDA).

 The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities of the Cashier. However, other duties will be assigned as deemed necessary by senior management and will be addressed per department job descriptions and Policies and Procedures.

Casino/Department Operations

Ensure that all currency transaction logs, and all reports are properly completed and filed chronologically and are readily available for inspection by regulatory agencies, such as MTL’s, MIL’s, SARCS, etc.

Properly report any suspicious activities reports and turn them into the appropriate personnel.

Responsible for maintaining a zero balance on all banks issued.

Responsible for investigating all variances before leaving for the day and correcting any errant information.

Will maintain open communication with all staff members, as well as reporting any incidents to their immediate supervisor or Department Manager/Director.

To properly enter all information recorded/documented on the Cashier Reconciliation Checkout Sheets (information includes ending counts of cash, chips, checks, promotional items, and tips.)

Must be able to perform cash exchanges/conversions whether from cash to cheques, or cheques to cash, cash to cash, etc.

Responsible for the daily maintenance of all currency machines, adding machines and is to report to immediate supervisor supplies that are needed.

Responsible for complying with all policy and procedures.

Responsible for keeping all serialized forms in sequential order for auditing purposes.

Must follow the clearing of the hands policy after every money transaction, prior to exiting/entering secured doors, before and after touching any part of the body, clothing, etc.

Responsible for calling command prior to paying out any ticket/jackpot of $1200 or more.

Ensures that all cash items and non-cash items are always secured in a lockable cash drawer.

Must have a neat clean appearance, no tattoos, or facial piercings.

Greet guest and team members eagerly upon arrival to the casino/hotel, always maintain an initiative-taking guest service approach.

Be able to assist with guest questions by being knowledgeable regarding promotions, events, specials, areas, and locations of casino.

Maintaining attendance to ensure Casino and Guest has necessary coverage to provide efficient guest service standards. Must be punctual and limit the number of absences.

Regulatory Compliance

Monitors all relevant activities of the department, to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and controls of the organization, and the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) and the Otoe-Missouria Gaming Commission (OMGC) are understood and enforced by departmental personnel.

Is aware of, understands and complies with regulatory requirements and enforces regulatory standards including Title 31 requirements.

Performs all duties in accordance with company team member handbook, objectives of the Otoe Missouria Tribe, internal policies, procedures, and controls, as well as applicable laws and gaming regulations, including but not limited to, the state-tribal compact, IGRA, MICS, OM TICS, the Bank Secrecy Act.

Maintains the Departmental Shift log(s) reviewing and noting any unusual occurrences, incidents, equipment failures, safety issues, disputes, etc.

 Makes effort to keep informed of company information and communications by reviewing property bulletin boards, departmental log/shift reports, departmental/company emails, signage, and company newsletter.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age.

Education And/Or Experience

High School Diploma (or equivalent). Casino experience preferred. Must possess excellent computer knowledge and have experience with cash-handling and effective communication skills.

Must be willing and able to workdays, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

 Must be able to provide the following cards or work authorization documents: All documents required to show the incumbent is eligible to work in the United States. Required to pass a drug test and obtain and maintain a gaming license to work in a casino from the Otoe Missouria Gaming Commission. It is the responsibility of the Team Member to always have all appropriate document(s) current and valid.

The Team Member must be able to lift at least 20 lbs. and push, pull or drag up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
