Position Overview:
The Director of Procurement is responsible for the overall strategy and execution of Acadian’s procurement process. This includes quantifying needs, determining the best sourcing strategy for products and/or services, negotiating cost, terms and conditions in contracts and ensuring compliance with rules and regulations. Additional responsibilities include vendor management, vendor risk management, contract lifecycle management and providing transparency through reporting and auditing. Acadian supports a hybrid work environment, employees are on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week.
What You’Ll Do:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to plan, execute and manage firm wide procurement
- Establish and drive standards in all areas of the procurement process including RFPs, RFQs, periodic due diligence of supplier market and performance
- Work in partnership with internal teams and suppliers to understand requirements and ensure appropriate vendor selection and value optimization through an agreed upon sourcing process
- Responsible for oversight of negotiation and execution of purchase orders, vendor relations and contract management
- Coordinate with Corporate Compliance and IT governance on vendor risk management procedures to identify and mitigate risk and ensure compliance with standard criteria
- Work with Data Governance, Compliance and end users to identify and manage risk pertaining to market data usage throughout the firm
- Manage Accounts Payable, taking a lead role in the execution of a full cycle Procure-to-Pay (P2P) automation tool; Ensure existing and new tools supporting P2P and contract management are used in a consistent and optimized way
- Increase visibility into payment and spend by leveraging key analytics such as KPI’s, PO accuracy and invoices paid on time
- Collaborate with FP&A in budget creation, management and quarterly forecasting on categories of spend including but not limited to firm wide IT and data spend
- Oversight of contract management lifecycle to ensure appropriate planning and reporting takes place for renewals and key contractual events
We’Re Looking For Teammates With:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or finance-related field; graduate degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a procurement; Prior experience with market data and/or technology required
- Experience assessing, reviewing, negotiating and managing third party contracts and vendors
- Exceptional project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage and influence others, as well as work in a team environment
- Strong written and oral communications skills
