How will your role help us transform hope into reality?
Research, identify, and validate novel oncology targets and small molecule drug discovery, utilizing knowledge of bioengineering to develop and conduct cellular assays to support Blueprint Medicine’s novel drug discovery efforts.
What will you do?
- Manages and QC routines assays performed at CRO and upload data to our server. (15%)
- Optimize and employ cellular and molecular assays such as Western blotting, Elisa and immunofluorescence-based assays to elucidate mechanistic biology of potential drug targets and mechanism of action of small molecules. (20%)
- Present research findings at team meetings. (5%)
- Maintain our automation platform and is the point of contact with the vendor when needed (such as major issues to be fixed or implementation of new updates). (15%)
- Design and development of automation methods for biological assays for several projects. Teach colleagues how to use those methods and troubleshoot when necessary. (15%)
- Cell culture Maintenance. (10%)
- Run routine assays when needed. (10%)
- Maintain detailed and critical experimental data records that are published in ELN according to industry compliance. (10%)
What minimum qualifications do we require?
Master’s degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related biological or life sciences field (or foreign equivalent degree), plus 1 year of experience in biological research for oncology drug development.
Experience, which may be gained concurrently, must include:
- 1 year of experience in maintaining, expanding, and freezing cell lines.
- 1 year of experience with running routine assays such as Alphalisa pERK and proliferation assays.
- 1 year of experience in using and programming liquid handlers such as Bravo, Biomek, Integra Assist Plus and D300.
- 1 year of experience in analyzing cell research data and presenting it to the team.
- 1 year of experience in analyzing and presenting scientific research papers.
- 1 year of experience in maintaining detailed ELN to ensure data reproducibility.
