Build Something Monumental For Healthcare!
At Tandem Health we’re reimagining healthcare by putting clinicians first. Our platform - designed by clinicians, for clinicians - is built on deep insight into real-world pain points, with intuitive medical notes and workflows that truly support patient care.
We’re a fast-scaling health-tech company backed by top investors and expanding globally. We move fast, stay curious, and believe building something that matters starts with an extraordinary team. If you're passionate about impact and innovation, we'd love to meet you!
About The Role & You
You’re relentlessly driven to understand how things work, the kind of person who dives deep when something breaks and won’t stop until you understand it and it’s fixed. You have applied this drive to understand the endlessly complex world of audio. A medium where edge-cases are the norm and any non standard processing requires a deep understanding..
You thrive in this complexity. You’ve built audio pipelines end-to-end and felt the real-world pain of making them work at scale, from managing flaky devices to handling buffering, mixing, streaming, and transcription. Where others see chaos, you see a system to be understood, stabilized, and made reliable.
At Tandem Health, you’ll lead the effort to build and scale our massive audio pipelines that power real-time healthcare conversations. From ensuring the right microphone is active to delivering accurate transcripts, you’ll make sure our audio systems are seamless, stable, and ready to scale across the continent.
This is a high-impact role where you’ll shape both our technical architecture and our engineering culture. If you’re excited by solving deeply technical problems in one of the most complex and rewarding mediums, we’d love to meet you.
What You Will Do
- Lead the design, development, and scaling of our audio pipelines, enabling real-time streaming of healthcare conversations with high reliability.
- Build systems that span the full chain, from device input and buffering to mixing, streaming, and transcription, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of audio data.
- Ensure stability, performance, and scalability of our audio infrastructure as we scale to support healthcare organizations across Europe.
- Collaborate across the stack, from frontend UX for audio-native products to backend processing systems and databases that handle high-volume streams.
- Drive best practices in audio engineering, setting technical direction and standards while mentoring engineers working on audio-related systems.
- Continuously improve our audio technology, iterating on tooling, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure high quality and reliability in production.
What You Bring
- A proven track record of building and deploying large-scale audio pipelines in production environments.
- Deep experience working across the full stack, from frontend applications to backend services and databases, with a focus on audio-heavy systems.
- Hands-on experience building audio-native products, where audio is central to the user experience.
- A deep curiosity for complex systems and a relentless drive to make them work - you go beyond surface fixes to understand what’s really happening under the hood.
- A strong ability to design systems that remain stable, performant, and reliable at scale, even under real-world constraints and device variability.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to build robust, high-quality systems.
Bonus Points
- Experience with speech-to-text and transcription systems in production environments.
- Prior work in healthcare tech or regulated environments.
- Deep understanding of clinical workflows, EHR systems, and medical documentation processes.
- Experience with frontend development in JS and React.
- Experience with Windows development in C#.
