Build Something Monumental For Healthcare!

At Tandem Health we’re reimagining healthcare by putting clinicians first. Our platform - designed by clinicians, for clinicians - is built on deep insight into real-world pain points, with intuitive medical notes and workflows that truly support patient care.

We’re a fast-scaling health-tech company backed by top investors and expanding globally. We move fast, stay curious, and believe building something that matters starts with an extraordinary team. If you're passionate about impact and innovation, we'd love to meet you!

About The Role & You

You’re a deeply curious person and that curiosity has led you deep into the world of authentication and identity. You care profoundly about how people prove who they are on the internet, how systems decide who gets access to what, and how we can make those decisions seamlessly and securely.

Over the years, you’ve worked with a wide variety of authentication methods, identity frameworks, and security standards. You’ve seen the tradeoffs of different approaches firsthand and learned how to design systems that balance security, usability, and scalability. At your previous companies, people came to you when they wanted to understand how authentication actually works under the hood.

At Tandem, you’ll lead the effort to build secure, robust, and user-friendly authentication systems that power the next generation of healthcare products. You’ll define the technical direction, set standards, and design core identity infrastructure - enabling safe, seamless access for clinicians and patients across all European countries.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll shape both the product and our engineering culture. If you’re excited by the challenge of building authentication systems that people can trust and doing it at the scale and safety level healthcare demands we’d love to meet you.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the design and development of our authentication and identity systems - from foundational protocols to user-facing access flows that are critical to clinician and patient trust.
  • Define and implement robust authorization frameworks, ensuring users only access the data and functionality they are entitled to, while keeping the experience seamless.
  • Evaluate and integrate industry standards and authentication technologies, understanding the tradeoffs to select the right approach for each use case.
  • Build systems that scale securely, enabling safe and reliable identity management as our products grow to support healthcare organizations and their preferred Identity Providers across Europe..
  • Serve as the go-to expert on authentication, helping others understand how identity systems work under the hood and driving best practices across the company.
  • Set the technical direction for our identity and security efforts, mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of security, reliability, and technical excellence.

What You Bring

  • A proven track record of designing and implementing secure authentication and authorization systems in production environments.
  • Deep experience with industry standards and identity frameworks (e.g. OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, or similar) and a clear understanding of their tradeoffs.
  • The ability to build systems that remain secure, performant, and reliable at scale, including rolling out authentication stacks to large user bases.
  • A passion for digital identity and a deep curiosity for how systems work under the hood, you want to understand, not just use, the technology.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with engineering, product, and security stakeholders across the organization.
  • A bias toward ownership, proactivity, and collaboration, you take responsibility for outcomes and raise the bar for everyone around you.

Bonus Points

  • Strong experience building SSO integrations across diverse providers, and a clear vision for how to unify identity across multiple countries and healthcare partners.
  • Prior work in healthcare tech or regulated environments.
  • Deep understanding of clinical workflows, EHR systems, and medical documentation processes.
