You as a Director, Tax will:
- Lead EllisDon’s global income tax and sales tax compliance, in particular:
- Lead and mentor the tax team.
- Manage CRA, provincial, federal and state tax audits and relationships with authorities.
- Oversee preparation of tax provisions under ASPE and US GAAP, and lead the related annual financial statement audit process.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies.
- Stay current on tax legislation and advise leadership of impacts.
- Collaborate with finance, accounting, legal, and operations teams on tax matters.
- Manage external advisors and consultants effectively.
- Canadian income tax and sales tax compliance (including, GST/HST, QST and PST in each province).
- United States income tax and sales tax compliance, across many states.
Is this the right role for you?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation.
- CPA designation and completion of In-Depth Tax program required.
- 10+ years of progressive tax experience, including demonstrated leadership experience.
- Strong expertise in Canadian income tax, sales tax, and tax accounting.
- Experience with United States income tax, sales tax, and tax accounting.
- Experience managing audits and rulings.
- Experience with large, complex, multinational organizations.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to travel between London, ON and Mississauga, ON offices, with periodic travel to other regional offices.
