About Us
At Hiya, we’re revolutionizing voice communication. Our mission is to modernize voice with intelligence for security and productivity
Since 2015, when we introduced the first mobile caller ID and spam-blocking apps, we’ve been at the forefront of voice intelligence innovation. In 2016, we partnered with Samsung and AT&T to launch Hiya Protect, the first network-based spam-blocking solution. In 2019, we introduced Hiya Connect, a branded call SaaS platform that helps businesses reach more customers by phone.
Today, our Voice Intelligence Platform supports over 500 million users globally. By using adaptive AI and audio intelligence, it delivers smarter, safer, and more productive voice calls across networks, apps, and devices. Our network & solution partners have grown to include British Telecom, EE, Virgin Media O2, Ericsson, Rogers, Bell Canada, MasMovil, Telenor, FICO, Twilio, and more.
About The Position
As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll design the next generation of Hiya’s consumer AI mobile app, shaping experiences that help small businesses communicate and work smarter. Sure, you’ll design amazing mobile UI and user flows, but you’ll also work alongside product managers, researchers, and engineers to invent new ways for people to interact with AI in real-time conversations. Your work will set the bar for what AI feels like when it’s truly useful and human-centered.
About You
We’re excited about you because you’re the kind of person who cares deeply about your work and the success of your team. You strive to constantly improve your craft, be a good teammate, and support others. You truly care about solving problems for users and can balance those needs with available resources and the needs of the business. Your opinions are strong, well-reasoned, and flexible, and you are happy to engage in constructive debates that build alignment and unblock work.
Your Day-To-Day At Hiya:
- Collaborate with PMs, research, and other stakeholders to uncover user pain points, generate solutions, and ship solutions that leave a lasting impact.
- Tell compelling stories through sketches, flows, prototypes, and polished UI that bring ideas to life.
- Design end-to-end — starting with discovery and ideation, iterating efficiently through low-fidelity mockups, and delivering detailed and polished experiences, flows, and prototypes.
- Bring the vision to reality — carry forward conceptual design work and evolve it into comprehensive product experiences that engineers can build.
- Present design decisions with conviction, grounded in research, driven by data, and strengthened through collaborative feedback.
- Shape the future of Hiya’s consumer AI mobile app, partnering with product, research, and leadership to craft experiences that deliver value for users and the business.
Qualities that will help you succeed:
- You have a portfolio that clearly communicates your design process and the measurable positive impact of your work on a product team, with a focus on consumer mobile app design for Android and iOS.
- You’re enthusiastic about exploring and adopting AI tools and processes that enhance your design craft and about creating value for users by building new experiences on the strengths of AI technologies.
- You’re adept at managing multiple projects, balancing competing priorities, and communicating capacity and realistic timelines to your teams. (Just say NO to burnout!)
- You excel at turning “fuzzy” user needs and complex problems into focused design solutions that move projects forward.
- You’re skilled at building on existing design work, patterns, and components to deliver comprehensive design documentation that guides stakeholders and engineers so they can ship efficiently.
- You thrive when you’re collaborating across teams, balancing long-term vision with Agile iteration.
- You embrace opportunities to stretch beyond your role, adapt quickly, and build new skills that help your team succeed.
You will have a fast start if:
- Figma is your best friend: using component libraries, prototyping, and FigJam boards to bring ideas to life.
- You flow effortlessly between Android and iOS, applying native guidelines to create consistent, intuitive experiences.
- Working within design systems is second-nature and you make thoughtful contributions when necessary.
- You bring UX writing skills to strengthen the app experience, thoughtfully guiding users as they experience new ways of communicating.
The person in this role must embody Hiya’s key values of Serving our customers, Doing rather than observing, Improving ourselves and our business, Owning and holding ourselves accountable for success, and Leading by showing up with a point of view, engaging in open discussion, listening respectfully to others opinions and committing to decisions.
The requirements listed in the job descriptions are guidelines. You don’t have to satisfy every requirement or meet every qualification listed. If your skills are transferable we would still love to hear from you.
