Description
Emory Law seeks a temporary employee to support the operations of the Dean's Office for the fall semester. This position is an in-person position responsbile for setting the welcoming, professional, and inviting tone for the suite that houses the Dean's Office. The ideal candidate is a person passionate about making others feel welcome, understood, and important to the shared success of Emory Law. The candidate will work directly with the faculty, students, staff, and alumni interacting with the Dean's Office. In coordination with staff from other departments, the position will ensure the day-to-day operations of the Dean's Office run seamlessly while ensuring compliance with school, university, and accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greets visitors and callers and handles their inquiries or refers them to the appropriate employee.
- Takes and routes messages.
- Performs routine typing and generates correspondence.
- Opens and distributes mail; prepares and mails outgoing correspondence.
- Sets up organized files for correspondence, ensuring easy retrieval.
- Operates standard office equipment.
- May join the dean for impromptu meetings with students (walk-in meetings).
- May enter data into computer database.
- May operate a multi-line telephone console.
- May post and maintain information in public areas.
- Performs related responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience administering an academic program especially at a professional school,
- Experience working in or demonstrated ability to work with diverse constituencies and support an inclusive environment.
Notes:
- There is an immediate need for assistance. Applicants will be considered on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
- This position is an in-person position expected to work eight hours per day (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch) Monday through Friday.
- This position is through Emory Temporary Services and expected to last throguh December 19, 2025.
NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
