Role Overview
The Global Business Travel team manages the business travel operations of Coupang employees across international borders, and reports into the larger Global Mobility organization which also includes Immigration and Expatriate Tax. As Coupang’s international footprint continues to expand, we are seeking a visionary Director of Global Business Travel to reimagine, build, and scale how our employees experience business travel. The leader will own the strategy, design, and execution to build a seamless, efficient, compliant, and more automated travel ecosystem that integrates vendors, internal systems, and employee touchpoints into one modern digital experience.
The Director of Business Travel will drive innovation and improvements to the full travel ecosystem, from discovery and design to launch and optimization, bringing together a partially decentralized operation into one frictionless global program.
What You Will Do
- Define and execute the strategy for Global Business Travel to deliver streamlined and efficient workflows alongside an improved employee travel experience.
- Identify pain points in travel operations and employee experience, and redesign them using intelligent automation and digital tools.
- Build and manage a roadmap of global business travel initiatives, balancing innovation with regulatory immigration and tax compliance, and operational scalability.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver integrated solutions across the travel management companies, airlines, hotels, rental cars, transportation services, and other ancillary services providers.
- Establish success metrics and guardrails to measure impact, ensure compliance, and continuously improve the traveler experience, holding the entire ecosystem accountable for delivering against their SLAs.
- Lead a small team of business travel operations professionals, modeling and driving a culture of high performance, exceptional customer service, and accountability.
- Stay ahead of Business Travel trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to inform product strategy, and operationalize an action plan as required.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Corporate Travel, Operations, or related fields with at least 5 years experience in leadership
- Track record of delivering transformation initiatives/projects with demonstrable ROI
- Deep-dive analytical skills that can take complicated, sometimes ambiguous problems and translate them into insights, scoped features, and projects that you deliver on
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills with proven ability to influence others, collaborating with both technical and non-technical team members
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in international environments and influencing across globally distributed teams
- High level of emotional intelligence, judgment, integrity, discretion, and cross-cultural conscientiousness

Document Return Policy
