Axle is seeking a meticulous and innovative Scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will manage complex imaging equipment within high-containment laboratories and play a crucial role in planning and executing advanced animal imaging studies.

Responsibilities
- Manage specialized imaging equipment within high-containment laboratory environments.
- Plan and execute advanced animal imaging studies.
- Design, execute, and analyze laboratory experiments with BSL-4 pathogens in accordance with project goals and safety standards.
- Deliver accurate interpretation and analysis of various imaging data types.
- Advise on imaging technologies, equipment installation, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Recommend appropriate imaging modalities for biological endpoints in studies with novel or highly pathogenic agents.
- Collaborate on the design and execution of complex imaging studies.
- Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective study design and data translation.
- Support the introduction and review of new collaborative studies.
- Assist in manuscript preparation for peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals.
- Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and plans related to imaging equipment and study designs.
- Communicate research findings effectively through reports, presentations, and discussions.
Qualifications
- PhD preferred, B.S. or M.S. in biomedical engineering, imaging sciences, or related discipline is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of direct hands on experience in a BSL-4 laboratory is required.
- Ability to work with select agents under established biosafety and security protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a results-driven mindset.
- Commitment to safety, integrity, and excellent in research.

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
