What You Will Be Doing:

This is an internal posting only. Working in our Byron Center, MI location, the Shipping Lead works with our production team and oversees the receipt, storage, order preparation, and delivery of material.  Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Promote a safe work environment for all employee owners
  • Model Lumbermen’s core values
  • Lead and make improvements to housekeeping standards and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Train, motivate, and coach Employee Owners in a positive fashion.
  • Become the go-to person for WMS and Agility expertise
  • Execute on shipping reports and follow ups
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Shipping operations
  • Always lead by example
  • Treat Employee Owners in a professional manner
  • Have a “Customer First” mindset and mentality

This position offers a $300 annual clothing allowance for uniform, protective footwear, and PPE.  

Key Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-3 years’ warehousing experience
  • Prior supervisory experience

  • Ability to effectively lead a team to success
  • Effectiveness in providing clarity to team in achieving company goals and objectives
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proficiency in warehouse systems
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Ability to do physical labor including lifting of up to 75lbs
