About The Role
We are seeking a strategic and outcome-focused Vice President, Head of Supply Chain to lead our end-to-end global supply chain organization. This leader will be responsible for all facets of Inspiren’s supply chain, which includes: sourcing & procurement, sales & operations planning, materials management, manufacturing, quality, and logistics. This also includes collaborating with our global design and manufacturing partners. The role is crucial for ensuring scalability, cost optimization, quality, and time-to-market in a hyper-growth environment.
What You'Ll Do:
Strategic Leadership:
- Drive the end-to-end supply chain strategy: develop and implement initiatives aligned with Inspiren’s business objectives.
- Own the outsourced supply chain partnerships: this includes contract negotiation, performance management, and executive relationships.
- Report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and a pivotal member of the Operations leadership team.
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee demand/supply alignment to ensure supply continuity while mitigating inherent risks of supply, including geopolitical implications
- Lead global sourcing efforts, including supplier partner selection, contract negotiations, and relationship management.
- Own global hardware manufacturing, ensuring highest quality, in a hyper-scale environment.
- Drive first, middle, and final mile logistics execution, including the use of 3PL/4PL partners, to ensure products are delivered on-cost and on-time, while minimizing reverse logistics and shrinkage.
- Optimize costs with aggressive YoY cost targets, across all facets of the supply chain, including the hardware product costs.
Hardware Product Development:
- Partner closely with the Head of Hardware and Systems to drive hardware product roadmaps and development with outsourced design and manufacturing partners.
- Ensure products are launched on-time, on-cost, on-budget with highest quality, flexibility, and scalability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Finance, Product, and Operations to successfully execute a supply chain strategy that is in line with Inspiren’t product vision and roadmaps.
- Drive hardware new product introduction and sustainment with Program Management, Engineering, and Product to successfully launch and sustain Inspiren’s product lifecycle.
Performance & Risk Management:
- Define KPIs and performance metrics relevant for supply chain and associated functions.
- Monitor and manage supply chain risks across geopolitical, logistical, and compliance dimensions.
- Ensure all supply chain activities adhere to relevant regulatory, environmental, and ethical standards.
About You
- Location: Must be physically based out of Taiwan.
- Education: Bachelors in Engineering, Sciences, or related fields.Experience:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in global supply chain, with at least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience managing outsourced partners in enterprise-based, high-tech hardware environments, with deep network and knowledge in the Taiwanese design and manufacturing partners.
- 5+ years of experience in hardware development (must have personally led launches) and well versed in phase-gate development processes
- Previously worked in US-based companies. Start-up experience is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapting to changing priorities.
Skills:
- Exceptional strategic thinking and negotiations skills
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communications skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
- Deep understanding of supply chain: able to develop and optimize the end-to-end system and process across source/plan/make/deliver.
- Familiarity with key hardware technologies.
- Ability to lead cross-cultural, cross-functional teams across different geographies and time-zones.
- Native/Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English (can speak/read/write)
Travel: Up to 40%, primarily to U.S. and other supplier sites in Asia.
