Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:
- 1. Serve as a liaison between the company and the regulatory agencies.
- 2. Perform regulatory compliance audits and safety checks to guarantee continuous regulatory compliance, as directed.
- 3. Relate with the entire hierarchy of employees to discuss regulations, standards, and company policies with the aim of providing training, as needed.
- 4. Responsible for the review of incident data and carry out root cause analysis to ascertain the cause.
- 5. Perform additional administrative and reporting duties related to regulatory requirements and safety metrics and maintain all records associated with compliance requirements.
- 6. Communicate up-to-date knowledge of current US and relevant international regulations relative to the University and its’ operations.
- 7. Conduct research to provide appropriate compliance recommendations, advice on upcoming regulations, and evaluating the overall impact on the University.
- 8. Ensure all permits and licenses are current.
- 9. Other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used and Responsibility
- Applicants should possess impeccable knowledge of regulation and be skillful in enforcing regulation, rules, and code.
- Applicants should have investigated, auditing, and interviewing skills. Successful regulatory compliance specialists are highly analytical and are detail oriented. It is crucial that they can unravel hidden records of the company, as well as tactfully ask helpful or meaningful questions, which can produce desired results from both GCU/GCE and the employees.
- It is the utmost importance applicants can work in a team-oriented environment.
- Regulatory compliance specialists serve as a link between the organization and the regulatory agencies, so it is vital that they can establish and manage relationships as well as influence decisions in the favor of GCU.
- The regulatory compliance specialist job involves providing counsel, education, and providing answer to compliance related questions, and reporting. The applicant must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess MS Office Suite proficiency.
Supervisory Responsibilities
May provide training and oversight to employees.
Experience/ Education
- Regulatory compliance specialist applicants will be required to have minimum of bachelor’s degree; however, an advanced degree is preferred.
- Five years of experience in a relevant industry like regulatory consulting, auditing, law, ethics, organization business, EHS, statistical analysis, trainer, etc. and at least three (3) years of experience as a regulatory compliance specialist.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
