Build your career and Australia’s future
Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.
A bit about your role
As the Executive Manager Commercial Finance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial success of nbn’s long-term business plan. Sitting within the Deputy Chief Financial Officer’s extended leadership team, you will partner closely with senior leaders across the organisation, including ExCo, EGM and GM levels, to deliver transparent, timely and strategic financial insights that influence commercial decisions and drive performance. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the financial outcomes of your business unit contribute meaningfully to nbn’s broader goals.
This is a role where your voice matters. You’ll be at the table where decisions are made, guiding financial strategy with clarity and purpose. You’ll lead with empathy and conviction, fostering a culture of inclusive leadership, personal growth and transformational thinking. Your ability to coach, mentor and uplift others will help build capability not only within your team, but across Finance and stakeholder domains. You’ll be a role model for nbn’s values and signature behaviours, consistently delivering results, challenging the status quo, and driving continuous improvement through data and insight.
A bit about you
You are a seasoned finance leader with deep experience in commercial and financial operations, ideally gained within complex, customer-centric environments such as telecommunications, infrastructure or technology. You bring more than a decade of expertise in financial reporting, strategic planning, and operational excellence, and you’re known for your ability to synthesise complex information into clear, actionable insights.
Your approach is collaborative and thoughtful. You build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, influence with integrity, and communicate with clarity. You’re confident navigating ambiguity and complexity, and you bring a challenger mindset that seeks out opportunities for transformation. You’re methodical and analytical, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for solving problems that matter. With a growth mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement, you inspire those around you to adapt, evolve and thrive.
