Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison with e-trading desks to gather, refine, and translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions.
  • Drive the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance systems with a focus on incremental delivery and continuous value generation.
  • Maintain a strong hands-on presence in the development lifecycle, contributing directly to coding, architecture, and deployment.
  • Foster strong relationships with trading desk personnel, building trust and ensuring alignment between technology and business goals.
  • Ensure seamless integration with market data feeds, messaging systems, and trading tools.

Technical Environment:

  • Languages & Frameworks: Java, Spring Boot
  • Architecture: Microservices, Co-located infrastructure, Framework driven design
  • Messaging & Integration: SBE, UDP, Protocol Buffers, Solace (streaming message bus), Excel integration
  • Domain Expertise: Market data integration, electronic trading systems, and trade floor environments

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in leading technical and implementing within a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Deep understanding of electronic trading workflows, particularly in electronic FX, other asset classes preferred but not necessary (i.e. US Treasuries)
  • Strong background in Java development and modern microservice architectures, particularly in a system that requires low latency performance
  • Experience working directly with trading desks and a solid understanding of the impact of technical implementation on business bottom line
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Integrate quantitative models for product pricing and risk management
