The Program Manager leads the planning, execution, and delivery of program initiatives, ensuring they align with organizational objectives. The Program Manager supports the daily administration of assigned programs within the department and assists with implementing initiatives effectively. The incumbent focuses on delivering quality programs to University faculty, staff, and other key stakeholders and acts as a point of contact for communication between leadership, faculty, students, and staff.

Department Specific Functions

  • Oversees program operations for graduate and accelerated programs within the School of Nursing and Health Studies’ Office of Student Services (OSS).
  • Leads admission-related functions, including coordination with NursingCAS, faculty committees, and University partners.
  • Manages the enrollment cycle for graduate and accelerated BSN students, ensuring timely onboarding, compliance, and orientation activities.
  • Directs registration and advising support, including enrollment monitoring, degree progress tracking, and resolution of academic and administrative holds.
  • Provides oversight for scholarship and fellowship application processes in collaboration with Associate Deans and Program Directors.
  • Represents the SONHS at recruitment events, webinars, and community outreach activities.
  • Maintains student records, program databases, and reporting systems to support program effectiveness and compliance.
  • Coordinates and leads career-related resources and events for graduate and accelerated students.
  • Supervises program staff, student assistants, and/or interns, ensuring tasks are delegated and completed effectively.
  • Collaborates with leadership on process improvement initiatives, leveraging data and student feedback to refine operations.
  • Updates Canelink with transfer credits and degree information for financial aid purposes
  • Oversees the follow-through on leaves of absence, withdrawals, and readmission requests by working closely with the Associate Deans, Program Directors, and Assistant Dean.
  • Facilitate changes to existing Plans of Study as students go off track and coordinates with the Assistant Dean to ensure tuition billing is correct
  • Works closely with the Executive Director and College Recruiter, the OSS team, and outside constituents to develop and host career-related resources and events for current students
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Core Qualifications

Department Specific Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in education, health sciences, or related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, academic administration, or student services.

Knowledge, Skills, And Attitudes:

Strong knowledge of program management principles, higher education systems (e.g., NursingCAS, CaneLink), and student lifecycle operations.

Proven ability to manage staff, coordinate across units, and build effective relationships with faculty, administrators, and external stakeholders.
