The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Air Dominance Proprietary Program team to support development efforts in Berkeley, MO.
Position Responsibilities:
Support a cross-functional engineering teams in executing a comprehensive electromagnetic environmental effects (E3) program plan and meeting program commitments including, but not limited to, the following tasks:
- Maintain alignment within the Boeing team and with the customer on E3 engineering; identify obstacles and work as a team to remove them
- Support management in maintaining cost, schedule and technical baselines for E3 effort. Identify trends and develop/implement contingency plans as necessary
- Coordinate active management of E3 related risks, issues and opportunities
- Support content development and provide quality review for E3 deliverables
- Collaborate with E3 technical lead to support program milestone reviews, develop necessary artifacts and presentation materials, and manage action items
- Collaborate with the program Integration & Certification team to plan, execute and document E3 related airworthiness and certification tasks
- Coordinate planning, execution and documentation of E3 test events with other engineering teams including airframe, subsystems, product security and mission systems
- Support identification tracking and proactive management of E3 related metrics for both program execution and product performance
- Operate with integrity, Build trust, and Work as a team at all times
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Berkeley, MO.
Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically depending on business needs.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
- Experience with one of the following: Performing or closely supporting Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) engineering tasks such as electromagnetic interference (EMI), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) or cosite efforts; lightning protection design/verification; emissions/spectrum engineering; hazards of electromagnetic radiation (e.g., HERP, HERF); bonding and grounding design
- Planning and execution of verification or certification test efforts (lab, ground and/or flight tests)
- Decomposition of Government or customer standards, development of certification or integrity plans, execution of verification/certification programs
- Development of customer deliverables requiring coordination across multiple engineering disciplines
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Secret Clearance
- EVM experience or experience developing and/or managing program baselines
- Ability to develop briefing materials and present to senior functional and program leadership
- Background systems engineering processes such as RIO and TPM management, technical review planning/execution, etc.
- Experience and developing metrics to track program execution
- Leadership of certification efforts with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to execute testing, including test article design & fabrication, lab coordination, data management, etc.
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
