The Hyperscaler Program office is organizationally aligned to the UTG PMO under Michele Richards’ leadership. The UTG PMO is the backbone of our engineering efforts, ensuring seamless program management and delivery
The Senior Staff Technical Program Manager supports the overall Program Owner in managing the successful delivery of program objectives. This role acts as second-in-command, providing operational and leadership backup when the Program Owner is unavailable. A key responsibility is serving as the Program-level Risk Manager, ensuring that risks are proactively identified, assessed, and mitigated across all program workstreams. The Deputy Program Manager also ensures coordination across projects, drives accountability, and supports strategic decision-making.

- Program Oversight & Leadership Support
- Act as deputy to the Program Owner, providing decision-making support and stepping in as needed.
- Ensure alignment of program projects with strategic objectives and organizational priorities.
- Support program governance activities, including steering committee and leadership meetings.
- Monitor overall program performance, escalating issues and proposing solutions.
Risk Management
- Serve as the Program-level Risk Manager, overseeing the identification, tracking, and mitigation of risks across all workstreams.
- Develop and maintain the program risk register, ensuring risks are documented, evaluated, and assigned owners.
- Facilitate regular risk reviews with project leads and stakeholders.
- Proactively identify interdependencies and systemic risks that could affect program outcomes.
- Report on risk trends and mitigation strategies to program leadership.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, sponsors, and cross-functional teams.
- Prepare and deliver clear, concise program updates, reports, and presentations for leadership.
- Ensure consistent communication and coordination between program managers, business leads and operations leads.
- Support issue resolution and stakeholder alignment at the program level.
- Program Operations & Delivery Support.
- Assist with program planning, including defining timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
- Monitor progress across projects, ensuring dependencies are managed and deadlines are met.
- Support resource planning and allocation to balance priorities across the program.
- Drive adoption of program management tools, processes, and reporting standards.
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor and guide workstream program managers, providing guidance on program management best practices.
- Support onboarding and knowledge transfer within the program team.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
- Strong background in risk management and program governance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a complex environment.
- Proficiency with program management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Planner, SharePoint).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- PMP, PgMP, or similar certification (preferred).
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years of project/program management experience in mid/large size companies, ideally with migration project experience.
For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $168,900 - $295,600, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
