Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. You will play a key role in designing and building scalable, secure, and user-centric applications that power Versant’s next-generation platforms. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in startup-like environments, embraces SaaS and low-code/no-code platforms, and is passionate about delivering value quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams from ideation to launch, delivering full-stack solutions that solve real business problems.
- Design and build scalable, fault-tolerant microservices and modern front-end applications.
- Leverage SaaS, low-code/no-code platforms where appropriate to accelerate delivery.
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions to elevate team quality.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Ensure security, performance, and maintainability are core to all solutions.
- Work closely with product and architecture teams to align on the technical direction and business priorities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficient in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.
- Experience with backend development in languages such as Java, Node.js, Python, or Go.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GenAI tools, SaaS platforms, and low-code/no-code tools.
- Exposure to serverless technologies and event-driven architecture.
- Experience modernizing legacy systems or integrating with enterprise platforms.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code.
- Background in media, entertainment, or digital platforms is a plus.
