Believ: ABOUT US
About Us: At Believ, formerly known as Liberty Charge, we believe sustainable transport should be accessible to everyone. We’re a Charge Point Operator (CPO) on a mission to create the UK’s most reliable electric vehicle charging network that doesn’t cost the earth and leaves no one behind. We work closely with local authorities and businesses to deliver reliable, high-quality charging networks at pace, at scale, and at zero cost. You’ll be joining this exciting journey at the start of our scale-up phase, and work with us to hit the ambitious targets our shareholders have set. You’ll become part of a passionate and supportive team in a fast-paced, dynamic, and result-driven environment.
About the Role: As the Senior Transport Data Insights Manager at Believ, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the commercial strategy for our Public Sector and Private Sector deals. Your main responsibilities will include developing and operating advanced analytical tools and techniques to inform EV charging demand forecasts, which underpin competitive commercial offers and conducting market insights analysis to support strategic decision-making. You will leverage your analytical skills to provide answers to key business questions surrounding both our business and our customers. This will include analysing internal and external data to better understand the key drivers of charge point utilisation, building insights to better understand customer behaviour, and assessing performance against key metrics. A significant focus will be on transport data analysis, travel demand forecasting, and transport planning.
Responsibilities:
- Commercial Modelling: Contribute demand modelling aspects of detailed commercial models to support bid proposals and business development activities, enabling deals to be modelled accurately and their fit against key financial targets and parameters to be assessed to inform decision-making. Analyse utilisation projections to develop robust pricing strategies and profitability assessments.
- Transport Data Analysis: Analyse internal and external transport data to better understand the key drivers of charge point utilisation. Conduct transport and travel demand forecasting to predict future trends and inform strategic planning. Utilise transport planning experience to develop insights and recommendations for optimising the EV charging network.
- Market Insight Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive dynamics in the EV charging sector. Provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making and business development initiatives. Monitor industry developments, policy changes, and technological advancements to inform commercial strategies.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Build insights to better understand customer behaviour and assess performance against key metrics. Create visual reports and dashboards using large quantities of data from a variety of sources. Automate data reports and presentations using data visualisation tools.
- Commercial Offer Support: Assist in the creation of compelling and competitive commercial offers for B2G, B2B, and Property/Land deals, working closely with sales leads to support them in shaping the proposition.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with sales, business development, finance, and technical teams to align commercial strategies with organisational objectives. Engage with external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and government entities, to understand their needs and enhance Believ's commercial propositions. Collaborate with key stakeholders to define key metrics and deliver analysis/reporting.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the commercial function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices in bid management and commercial strategy development. Stay abreast of emerging trends and innovations in the EV charging industry to maintain a competitive edge.
- Transport Modelling & Simulation: Develop and iterate transport models based on live and historical data to simulate charge point demand across different geographies and use cases. Utilise AI, machine learning or statistical techniques to improve predictive accuracy over time.
- Behavioural Analysis: Analyse patterns in charging behaviour, dwell times, journey types (en-route vs destination), and site amenities to uncover insights that inform infrastructure planning and user engagement strategies.
- Data Enrichment & Integration: Scrape and integrate third-party datasets (e.g. tariff data, point of interest data, EV registration stats, socio-demographics) to enhance the richness and relevance of insights.
- Assumption Testing: Validate or challenge assumptions used in existing models through comparison with actual utilisation data and external benchmarks.
- Constraint Mapping: Assess supply-side constraints such as grid capacity and land availability in target deployment areas, and cross-reference with forecasted demand to identify optimal deployment zones.
- Scenario Testing: Use simulation and data science techniques to model scenarios such as tariff changes, weather events, network failures, and public policy shifts to understand their impact on utilisation.
Key Success Factors:
