The Residential Hub is designed to offer operational flexibility to our Standalone portfolio. A team of off-property subject-matter experts will support multiple properties promoting knowledge sharing and best practices. As one of the leaders in branded residences since 1982, Four Seasons currently operate 55+ residential properties around the world.
The role of the Staff Accountant is responsible for executing key accounting tasks, including accounts payable, payroll processing, income audit, general ledger maintenance, and month-end reporting, in accordance with company policies, internal controls, and governing financial documents.
This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with other departments and external partners. The Staff Accountant plays an important role in maintaining compliance with financial regulations and internal standards while supporting the efficient financial performance of each property.
This is a remote position based in the United States and reports to the Director of Finance for the Residential HUB. This role involves interactions with primarily internal stakeholders at various levels.
What You’ll Be Doing
Financial Reporting & Month-End Closing
- Good understanding of the Month-End Process, including preparation of financial statements, accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Perform all daily, monthly, and other periodic accounting and financial reporting in an accurate and timely nature.
- Prepare and coordinate monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and all bank reconciliations.
- Assist the Assistant Director of Finance in maintaining the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Participate in the physical inventory counts and ensure accuracy of count, price, and valuation.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Assist the Residential Hub Director of Finance with maintaining the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Ensure the properties are in compliance with all internal controls, governing document requirements and FS agreement requirements.
- Understand and possess a working knowledge of the Accounting & Finance Manual.
- Be familiar with the program of records control, security, retention and disposal in accordance with hotel policy and procedures.
- Adhere to the rules and regulations of the property’s governing documents and HOA Condo legislation.
- Comply with and enforce Four Seasons’ Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist the Residential Hub Director of Finance in the preparation of all budgets and forecasts.
- Assist Department Heads in producing their annual labor budgets.
- Review weekly labor report and explain major variances to established labor standards.
- Support measures to save costs and find efficiencies to minimize HOA costs.
- Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Income Audit
- Direct and supervise the efforts, quality, and timeliness of all aspects of payroll, accounts payable, income audit.
- Prepare and process the deliverable functions of Payroll, Income Audits, and Accounts Payable.
- Have the ability to direct efforts, quality, and timeliness in payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, and income audit.
Accounts Receivable & Collections
- Maintain proper billing and collection of assessments.
- Process and issue prompt and accurate billing and collection of assessment items.
- Escalate collection concerns and provide AR aging reports.
- Liaison with Capgemini for processing and exception handling.
Departmental Support & Communication
- Maintain harmonious and professional relationships with all departments and Home Office.
- Actively support other department managers on labor standards, payroll, and other issues.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Residential Hub Director of Finance.
- Assist in other areas of the accounting office as needed.

Technical Skills And Knowledge:
- Require a working technical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and all corporate policies and procedures.
- Proficient, at an advanced level, to operate computer equipment and relevant computer programs, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strategic, analytical and have solid business acumen.
- 2 to 5 years’ experience with a Finance Department
- Previous experience in the Hospitality and/or Residential sectors is considered an asset
- College education or equivalent experience
- Annual Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 USD
