Express Scripts’ Business Product Operations (BPO) team serves as a liaison between the business and technology to ensure capabilities support complex, large-scale implementations, new product/product enhancements and client commitments. This position is responsible for Technology Enablement and BPO technical capabilities with a primary focus on benefit operations and client specific technology needs which includes management, oversight, and implementation of enterprise-wide, large-scale cross-functional initiatives or as a primary stakeholder to those initiatives. The Technology Enablement and BPO is responsible for business capabilities oversight and delivery, data governance and stewardship, pharmacy regulatory and telecommunication compliance, and supporting business stakeholders across the enterprise. This role has responsibility and ownership for various capabilities in the pharmacy services ecosystem to support retail claim adjudication, as well as, leading a client-facing team to accurately and expeditiously document client technology enhancement requirements and manage oversight of the delivery of those requirements.  

This position is also responsible for managing all aspects of a BPO team including collaboration with portfolio management on technology capacity and resource allocation, daily interface with Technology Product Owners (TPO) leveraging Agile methodology, appropriate escalation with business and technology, informed and collaborative relationships with business stakeholders and all levels of the technology organization. The Technology Enablement and BPO serves as a trusted advisor to clients and internal business and is expected to have a deep working knowledge across a broad ecosystem of technology capabilities and interconnections between tools.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure all interactions with clients are clear, concise, and easily understandable. Avoid jargon and complex language and tailor communication style to the client's level of understanding to ensure effective communication.
  • Identify, define, advocate, prioritize, communicate, and manage the strategy and direction of corporate-wide, business specific Technology dependent initiatives.  Own, manage and enhance capabilities to meet the needs of the various business units across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across business areas to ensure initiatives are prioritized, scheduled and delivered appropriately, and delivering comprehensive solutions that meet the client's needs.  Work with CTPOs, Delivery Managers, SAs and Technology leadership preparing timelines and deliverables to achieve objectives that align to enterprise goals while addressing obstacles and competing priorities in a timely manner.
  • Directly and indirectly manage teams to achieve expected deliverables across multiple functions, domains and sub-domains. Manage all BPO team responsibilities including staff training and development. Develop, coach, and grow the team - fostering a positive team environment while maintaining a high degree of accountability and service delivery.
  • Raise and mitigate escalations/concerns/issues, identifying accountability and back up/alternate strategies to deliver timely solutions to the business
  • Represent the BPO organization in client meetings and large-scale strategic efforts, providing system knowledge, innovative thinking, and thoughtful contributions to support innovative solutions.
  • Represent the enterprise in a professional manner while actively serving as an expert externally as needed.
  • Ensure appropriate processes are used with technology partners to structure and manage interdepartmental and intra-departmental initiatives efficiently.
  • Ensure initiative testing plans are effective and complete and support post deployment review.
  • Manage all capability backlog prioritization and work.
  • Create, schedule, and facilitate Adjudication and Capability Summits with Technology to stay abreast of emerging Technologies in order to deliver flexible solutions to the business.
  • Manage capability roadmaps to align to enterprise strategies.
  • Work closely with business leaders to ensure that business value justifications align to the Value Based Prioritization process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Proven leadership with experience in managing managers and multifunctional teams
  • Blended business and technology/technology adjacent background strongly preferred
  • Prior experience with large cross-functional project management experience, requiring significant technology engagement
  • Healthcare industry or PBM experience desired
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work, quickly identify impacts of competing and upcoming projects and initiatives and manage accordingly.
  • Keen eye for process improvement with the ability to articulate and act upon interdependencies and redundancies to ensure resource efficiency and minimize duplication of effort.
  • Self-starter able to solve complex challenges with minimal guidance or day to day direction.
  • Maintain knowledge base on new technology trends, solutions and techniques and protocols.
  • Must be able to clearly and effectively convey information to clients and understand their needs.  Ability to effectively pull out detailed requirements and establish an understanding of expected outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships, work well in a team, and influence others.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with multiple audiences and at all levels of the organization.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 177,000 - 295,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
