About The Role
As Research Fellow, you will support research activities within the Aquatic Environmental Stress research group (AQUEST) including the Aquatic Pollution Prevention Partnership (A3P) with Melbourne Water. Key responsibilities will include managing three key projects, planning and executing fieldwork activities, data collation and analysis, and preparation of technical reports, peer-reviewed journal articles and presentations. You will also be responsible for reporting back to the Project working groups on progress for each project.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Demonstrated extensive experience in project management, particularly managing large-scale projects with industry
- Evidence of research output including publications, conference contributions and technical reports in the field
- Demonstrated ability to work in the field in aquatic/terrestrial environments. This can include working multiple days in the field
- Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the demonstrated ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues, project team leaders, and industry partners
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required
- Demonstrated high level communication skills
- Demonstrated ability of working with large datasets
Mandatory:
- Extensive environmental project management experience
- PhD or equivalent in ecotoxicology, environmental chemistry or environmental science
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia required as Visa sponsorship is not available for this role
- Valid Victorian Driver’s license or equivalent
