Software & Information Platforms manages the technical configuration, design, administration, development, implementation and support of application and information frameworks that the organization's application solutions utilize. This job family partners with Application Development & Maintenance teams and other Information Technology function teams to identify enhancements for platforms and long-term capabilities.
 

We have a hiring need a Apigee API Software Developer! The Apigee API Software Developer plays a key technical role on the Enterprise API Solutions and Apigee Platform Team with a focus on building reusable API services and assisting application teams with technical challenges on the Apigee X platform. While primarily working with Google Apigee, the Developer will design, develop, and troubleshoot API services. The resource will also provide technical guidance to GTBS teammates and organizational stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business clients, project stakeholders, IT personnel and development staff in design, development and delivery of API proxies
  • Performs complex analysis of system capabilities and is sought out for deep expertise. Provides deep technical and functional expertise and is a trusted expert.
  • Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
  • Conduct major version software upgrades and fix pack updates.
  • Responsible for maintaining and enhancing development of the best practices and standards
  • Monitor API performance, usage, and security to ensure the APIs are working as expected.
  • Responsible for testing the APIs to ensure that they meet business requirements.
  • Responsible for implementing CICD pipelines for Apigee proxies.
  • Demonstrates expertise with Google Cloud Platform and other Cloud platforms like AWS.
  • Demonstrates willingness to learn new products/technologies and is an effective team player.
  • Lead sessions with consumers of services to define their requirements with respect to access, logical structure, and accessibility
  • Demonstrates hands on experience with one or more programing languages (Java/J2EE, Shell/Perl/ Python scripting)
  • Demonstrates knowledge of configuring and deploying applications preferably using Docker on Google Cloud Platform and other cloud platforms.
  • Demonstrates experience installing and configuring clustered environment. Implement systems including fault tolerance and high availability solutions.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.
  • Demonstrates hands on experience with one or more programing languages (Java/J2EE, Shell/Perl/ Python scripting)
  • Maintains platform or system health and availability requirements including HADR testing.
  • Leverages fluency in technical languages, operating systems, application programming interfaces, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Communicates effectively with various cross-functional and technology teams (app dev, deployment, testing, project).
  • Ability to define work processes and lead team members in successful implementation
  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces.
  • Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.
  • Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
  • Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of architecture standards and database and operating systems.
  • Demonstrates problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.
  • Analyzes production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 4+ years’ experience in related field preferred
  • Apigee X experience required
  • Experience developing and maintaining API Marketplace preferred
  • Working with different open-source products/services related to Integration, Messaging, or API management technologies
  • 2+ years of Cloud experience
  • Experience with Code, Configuration and Build management tools such as GIT, Concourse, Ansible, Jenkins, and Harness is preferred.
  • Knowledge of software development processes and supporting tools such as Agile methodologies and Jira
  • Implement AI-driven threat detection and anomaly monitoring to proactively identify and mitigate unusual API behavior or potential security breaches.
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated API documentation and developer portals using tools like Swagger/OpenAPI and Apigee Developer Portal (Drupal or integrated) to enhance API discoverability
  • Experience integrating Apigee with Identity Providers (IdPs) to support OAuth 2.0 for secure and seamless authentication
  • Experience implementing and managing API monetization strategies using Apigee Edge or Apigee X to support business models that generate revenue from APIs preferred
  • Leveraged Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Google Cloud Deployment Manager to automate Apigee proxy deployments and environment configurations preferred
  • Operating Systems: Windows and Linux
  • 4+ years of experience in implementing API proxies through gateways required.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing Rest APIs/Restful Web services.
  • Knowledge and experience in API Connect and/or APIGEE.
  • Knowledge and experience in OAuth for Authentication
  • Resources with knowledge under both API Connect and APIGEE will get more credit.
  • Knowledge and experience in JWT token implementation for Authentication/Authorization will get more credits.

Anticipated salary range: $94,900 - $135,600
