Head of Strategy

The Role You Could Play  

As Head of Strategy, you’ll be at the heart of some of MECCA’s most significant decisions and projects: 

• Shape the enterprise: Partner with the Leadership Team to craft and deliver our long- and short-term strategy. You’ll guide pivotal decisions – from exploring acquisitions to future-proofing our business model. 
• Guide, support and bind: Lead our strategic planning process, ensuring it drives meaning and momentum. You’ll also support the business across departments – think of your team as MECCA’s in-house consultants, tackling challenges like education effectiveness and major cross-functional initiatives. 
• Take on large-scale projects: Provide direction and leadership on enterprise-shaping work such as Project Sand, guiding senior managers and collaborating across the business. 
• Be a thought leader: Stay ahead of industry trends, market dynamics and competitor activity, translating insights into bold, actionable opportunities that keep MECCA ahead of the curve. 

What You Will Bring  

We’re looking for a strategist who can see the big picture and make it real. You’ll have the ability to balance short-term wins with long-term vision, turning complex problems into clear, compelling plans that bring people along for the journey. You’re decisive, resilient under pressure, and have the confidence to make tough calls when it matters most. 

You’ll be a natural communicator – someone who can cut through complexity, inspire confidence across the business, and keep teams aligned and motivated. Collaboration comes easily to you; you build trust quickly and know how to unite diverse stakeholders around a shared goal. 

You’ve honed your craft in both consultancy and in-house roles, giving you the breadth to move seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on delivery. A consumer background is important – whether that’s retail, beauty, lifestyle, or another sector – because you understand what it means to be truly customer-centric. Most of all, you’re driven by growth: of yourself, your team, and the business you’re part of.
