Job Details:

SUMMARYThis position is covering a Leave of Absence (LOA) for a minimum of 3 months. If the prior incumbent of this position returns, the interim team member will be placed in a like or similar position that was held prior.Join our team as a Temporary Wastewater Operator and immerse yourself in a dynamic role where you'll handle a variety of essential tasks. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Operation of Wastewater Systems: Manage and maintain wastewater analysis laboratories, collection systems, pre-treatment systems, and full treatment systems.
  • Sample Collection and Analysis: Collect samples for analysis in compliance with EPA, state, and health department regulations. Perform chemical analyses both in and out of the lab.
  • System Adjustments: Make informed decisions and system adjustments based on chemical analysis results to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Perform mathematical calculations, complete computerized reports, and compile information for monthly reports as required by permits, state authorities, EPA, or corporate management.
  • Maintenance and Operations: Utilize basic organizational, mechanical, and electrical wiring skills. Maintain operations logs, perform maintenance on equipment, and operate spotter trucks and forklifts.
  • General Duties: Engage in groundskeeping, painting, general housekeeping, and other duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTSEducation:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
Experience:
  • 1+ years of wastewater experience preferred.
Computer Skills:
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel
Communication Skills:
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical
Certification:
  • Must successfully complete a storm water training program selected by site management within thirty days
  • Must successfully complete "Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume I" and "Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume II" correspondence courses through California State University Sacramento within twelve months
  • Must obtain the lowest grade certification program within twelve months or in accordance with State regulations.
Other Requirements:
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Required to obtain higher levels of certification and training up to Level A at this facility
  • Must meet and maintain the minimum qualification levels as required by state regulations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Physical lifting of heavy objects (50-75 pounds)
  • Climbing and/or descending stairs or ladders
  • Working in unsanitary conditions
  • Working with hazardous chemicals.
Supervisory:
  • None
Travel:
  • 1 to 2 trips per year
