About This Opportunity:

Manager, Facilities Engineering, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be the System Coordinator / Discipline Responsible Engineer (DRE) for assigned systems on the SeaRose FPSO and WWR Platform. This role will provide day to day mechanical & piping support to maintenance, marine, production and drilling operational teams. The Senior Mechanical Engineer is also responsible for stewarding to the Atlantic Region Management of Change process for any modifications to assigned systems.

This position is located at our St. John, NL office.

What You’Ll Do:

  • Initiate mechanical/piping engineering modifications, complete Engineering Investigations, develop scopes of work, support detailed design, selection and purchase of new or replacement equipment, construction and commissioning.
  • Support Abnormal or Non-routine Situations (ANRAS), participate in Risk Assessments, PHA’s and HAZOP’s.
  • Act as the Safety Critical Coordinator for assigned Safety Critical Elements on the SeaRose FPSO & WWR Platform.
  • Ensure stewardship and closeout of all actions in the Cenovus Action Tracking Software (Intelex & ATMS).
  • Provide technical support to maintenance planning, annual turnarounds, procurement of materials, fixing operational issues, integrity management support, contract management, etc.
  • Actively lead and support the Cenovus Operational Integrity Management System (COIMS) with particular emphasis on areas of design, management of change, , personnel competency, performance assessment and continuous improvement methodologies.

Who You Are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering,
  • A member in good standing or eligible for registration with Professional Engineers and Geoscientist Newfoundland & Labrador (PEGNL).
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in a progressively responsible engineering role within the oil and gas industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Oil & Gas Industry, with solid understanding of Regulatory & Certifying Authority regulations, codes & standards, and offshore installations (Drilling & FPSO).

This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to pre-placement Fitness for Work assessments, which includes drug and alcohol screening, a medical and driver’s abstract review
