Profile Summary:

The Sr Behavioral Health Case Manager is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting behavioral health information to support disability claims involving mental health conditions. This role collaborates closely with claims professionals, healthcare providers, and internal partners to assess psychological functional capacity, clarify treatment plans, and support recovery and return-to-work strategies.

Profile Description:

  • Apply clinical expertise in behavioral health to assess and analyze claim file information, delivering objective, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Communicate complex psychological and psychiatric issues clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to identify and obtain pertinent behavioral health documentation necessary for accurate functional assessments.
  • Partner with treating mental health providers and claimants to clarify diagnoses, treatment plans, anticipated outcomes, and return-to-work expectations.
  • Provide consultation and education to non-clinical staff to enhance understanding of mental health conditions and support appropriate claim management.
  • Operate with a sense of urgency and adaptability to meet evolving business needs.
  • Demonstrate strong time management by effectively prioritizing tasks, completing reviews promptly, and ensuring timely follow-up on all case activities.
  • Maintain required professional licensure and certifications, stay current with behavioral health trends, and complete ongoing educational requirements.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Active clinical licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMHC) required.
  • 3+ years of clinical experience in behavioral health settings preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency with digital tools and comfort navigating multiple platforms.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
