The Manager, US Congress Strategy works closely with all US Medical Affairs & Evidence Generation (USMAEG) functions, Global MAEG, HEOR, Clinical Development, Clinical Science, Medical Field Teams, Commercial, and all other cross functional stakeholders to provide support and project management for medical activities at major national neurology, rheumatology, and endocrinology congresses. This role will also assist in the planning and execution of industry-sponsored scientific symposia funded by argenx. This position will support the Director, US Congress Strategy Lead.
Roles And Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of USMAEG congress strategy and planning across therapeutic areas (neurology, rheumatology, and endocrinology), aligning with cross-functional colleagues as relevant including Marketing, Marketing Operations, and CST (Congress Strategy Team)
- Support the planning and execution of all USMAEG congress-related tactics and activities including scientific symposia and medical booth content and development for international and regional congresses
- Coordinate and communicate all congress-related activities with all USMAEG and MAEG sub-functions including Medical Information, Field Medical, Medical Director Office, and Scientific Communications to ensure internal stakeholders’ alignment and engagement
- Support the Director, US Congress Strategy Lead in evaluating novel and impactful approaches to symposia and booth content presentation
- Partner with CST to ensure key US congresses (Tier 1) meet international and USMAEG objectives and provide communication and activities that support the long-term vision of the argenx portfolio of molecules and indications relevant to therapeutic focus of the congress
- Work directly with vendors to develop symposia-related congress materials
- Inform internal stakeholders across the organization on USMAEG activities at all major congresses, as well as coordinating pre-cons and post-congress summary readouts
Skills And Competencies:
- Experience in supporting comprehensive medical affairs congress plans and activities
- Experience in the planning and execution of scientific symposia or scientific content (live, digital content or other channels) in the biopharma industry
- Ability to understand and summarize complex scientific and medical data into impactful deliverables across live and digital channels
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, matrix, and team-oriented structure
- Prior experience in effectively navigating MLR review within a biopharma organization
- Strong understanding of industry regulations and practices relating to Medical Affairs
Education, Experience And Qualifications:
- Equivalent combination of education (eg, BS/BA degree in a scientific or health-related field required) and applicable job experience
- 2-4 years biopharmaceutical industry experience supporting the development and execution of industry-sponsored symposia and scientific presentations
- Scientific content development experience in neurology, immunology or rare disease across a variety of platforms, channels and venues (e.g. symposia, videos, webinars, website content, infographics, posters, oral presentations)
- Successful record of creating and managing complex project plans, timelines, budgets and critical paths
- Ability to travel 25% domestically and internationally
