Business Intelligence Analyst

Job Description

To extract data from various sources, understand business requirements and analyse data in order to provide relevant insights for business decisioning, under guidance and supervision.

Data Visualization And Storytelling:

• Develop and maintain interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
• Translate complex data sets into clear, actionable insights through compelling visual narratives.
• Develop and maintain data visualization standards and best practices.

Business Intelligence:

• Design and implement BI solutions to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business strategies.
• Prepare and deliver regular and ad hoc reports to support business decision-making
• Design and implement automated reporting solutions to streamline data delivery and reduce manual effort
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver tailored BI solutions.
• Design and optimize relational and dimensional data models.
• Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts to support data preparation and validation.
• Perform data reconciliation and quality checks across systems.

Collaboration And Mentorship:

• Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making within the organization.

Innovation And Technology:

• Explore and implement new BI and data visualization technologies to enhance reporting capabilities.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in BI and data visualization.

Governance And Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring to maintain high data integrity.

Requirements, Required Skills & Experience:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• 2 – 3 years of experience in Microsoft BI stack: SSIS, SSAS (Tabular & Multidimensional), SQL Server.
• Strong expertise in cube design and deployment in both on-prem and Azure environments.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, PowerPivot, and Excel-based reporting.
• Deep understanding of dimensional modelling (star/snowflake schemas).
• Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, DAX, and MDX.
• Experience with SharePoint integration for report delivery.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
