Summary Of The Job:
We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst with 3-5 years of experience in data management and systems processes, specifically within the commercial banking sector. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of credit data management systems, preferably in commercial credit or credit card sectors. This role demands a professional adept at navigating the full data lifecycle—collection, cleaning, transformation, and visualization—and capable of handling datasets of varying sizes and complexities to deliver precise and actionable insights. Applicants should demonstrate a robust knowledge of commercial loan underwriting systems and advanced technical skills for managing complex data. Strong project management abilities are crucial, as this position requires significant cross-functional collaboration to achieve optimal outcomes.About This Role:
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate across business units to understand and analyze credit data, ensuring data insights that align with business objectives.
- Demonstrate exceptional ad hoc data analysis skills, effectively managing and analyzing small, mid-sized, and large datasets across various timeframes. This includes understanding both the evolution of data over time and snapshot analyses to capture specific moments or trends. Document these processes clearly to enable other users to easily understand and continue the work.
- Implement best practices in data handling, processing, and reporting to optimize the efficiency and reliability of the credit data system. Ensure that these practices meet industry standards and support strategic business goals.
- Utilize Python and SQL for data analysis and report generation. Additionally, leverage low-code tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Excel's Power Query, and Power Pivot for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and data querying. Proficiency with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating advanced calculations in Power BI is also highly valuable.
- Apply expertise in commercial loan underwriting processes to improve data analysis frameworks and system integrations.
- Employ effective project management techniques to coordinate data-related projects across multiple departments, ensuring timely delivery of outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate for This Role:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in data systems within the commercial banking industry.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL with at least 1-2 years of practical application.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Excel's Power Query, and Power Pivot.
- Strong understanding of the data querying process and principles of data management.
- Excellent communication skills, able to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
- A well-balanced technical and business acumen, with an understanding of commercial credit processes.
Compensation:
Compensation range (base pay): $80,061.00-$132,099.00This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.
Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
Work Environment:
It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week.
