Senior Electrical HVAC Controls Engineer (onsite)

What you will do

Johnson Controls is hiring in our BE AirSystems Engineering Team based in York, PA! The Senior Electrical HVAC Controls Engineer is responsible for a full range of engineering tasks, applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria with an emphasis on electrical and HVAC control engineering estimating, including all aspects of AHU electrical selection, application, and installation. The team focuses on AHU (Air Handling Unit) design and development for special quotes and contracts. This position is based onsite in York, PA. Candidates must be commuting distance or able to relocate.

How you will do it

• Determine and apply optimal techniques, procedures, and theories to the analysis, design, or research of mechanical and electrical equipment, components, systems, and products.
• Utilize complex problem-solving methods requiring ingenuity and creativity.
• Apply basic statistical analysis and quality principles; possess general understanding of advanced statistical tools.
• Provide technical directions to engineers, drafters, and technicians on specific assignments.
• Develop and adhere to procedures for electrical design; define and interpret design specifications.
• Design electrical components and systems to meet specified requirements.
• Analyze product design requirements and recommend solutions.
• Translate conceptual ideas into product requirements, integrating concurrent engineering principles with manufacturing processes.
• Prepare, check, and coordinate documentation to support component design; provide guidance to others.
• Apply electrical codes such as NEC, UL, ETL, etc., proficiently.
• Select optimal parts and alternatives; define new processes for selection.
• Lead preliminary design and systems architecture; design balanced system approaches considering all related activities.
• Independently analyze, design, modify, and troubleshoot complex electrical/mechanical components and subsystems.
• Participate in design reviews and support technical proposal activities.
• Uphold the company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.
• What you will needRequired
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of professional electrical engineering experience, specifically with motor controls.
• 3+ years of HVAC controls industry experience.

• Proficiency In Autocad.

• Able to go onsite to our York, PA, plant facility everyday.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $86,000 - $116,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
