As a Business Risk Manager of Bank Julius Baer Europe S.A. (BJBE), Ireland Branch, you act as the dedicated 1st Line of Defence risk contact person for Front employees and management. You support the Front management in their supervisory duties and in managing the daily risks, by monitoring the Front’s compliance and exposure to the bank’s identified risk items and by performing approvals and control tasks as per delegation. You are responsible for the integration of the Ireland Branch into the Business Risk Management governance of the Julius Baer Group and proactively identify monitoring needs. You take responsibility for the alignment, design, implementation and execution of an efficient 1LoD Front monitoring.
You have a client-, service- and business- oriented risk mindset and ensure a target-oriented communication. You coordinate local BRM activities with BRM units in Luxembourg and Switzerland and strive for integration and harmonisation.

Your Challenge

• Establish and maintain an adequate 1LoD risk governance based on the group standards as well as required by local regulation
• Proactively support primarily the Front Office in Dublin as a solution-oriented Business Risk Manager to avoid risks arising in the day-to-day business
• Take over responsibility for selected BRM tasks for all Front units of Bank Julius Baer Luxembourg (BJBE)
• Support Front Management in their supervisory duty and managing daily risks by conducting regular risk exchanges
• Monitor significant risks in the Front Departments and agree with Management on respective measures
• Perform approvals and control tasks for Front Management as delegate and in accordance with the internal policies
• Support Front in challenging situations and non-standard cases from a risk perspective
• Assess training needs and support education in the Front teams
• Ensure regular exchange of topics and share best practices with Front
• Establish a collaborative relationship with / knowledge transfer from internal stakeholders such as the CRO division
• Coordinate and monitor remediation activities and align with supervisor or 2nd Line of Defence (2LoD)
• Analyse (Front Office) processes from a risk perspective and develop new ideas to mitigate risks and to reduce manual workarounds
• Ensure integration of local activities into the set-up and reporting of BRM as defined by JB Group and BJBE

Your Profile

Must Have

• Sound knowledge in regulatory and risk topics (e.g. KYC, Fraud, Cross border)
• 1 -2 years experience in a client facing function preferred. Risk or Compliance background alternatively will be considered
• Generalist know-how of asset classes paired with a strong interest for financial markets
• Fluent in English
• Self-driven, take responsibility
• Strong client and business orientation and ability to think interconnected
• Good MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills
• Good communication skills
• Structured working method

Nice To Have

• A Master’s degree in Economics, Finance or other related fields is preferable.
• Further language skills are a benefit
