Position Overview


Vantage is looking for a strategic, detail-oriented, high-performing Lead Accountant to lead our Finance team in ensuring financial reporting accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. This role plays a pivotal leadership function in the monthly close process, overseeing journal entry preparations, reconciliations, and adherence to accounting policies. The Lead Accountant will work closely with the global finance team, driving continuous process improvements, providing financial insights, and supporting cross-functional initiatives.  

Essential Job Functions

Financial Close And Reporting Leadership:

  • Manage journal entry preparation and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.  
  • Lead** the monthly recording of payroll, collaborating with HR and global finance teams to ensure departmental alignment.  
  • Review and approve monthly internal financial reports, providing actionable insights for business decisions.  

Process Development And Global Alignment:

  • Drive improvements in the global allocation process, ensuring efficiency and consistency.  
  • Implement best practices for financial controls, reporting accuracy, and policy standardization.  

Expense Management And Financial Accuracy:

  • Oversee and validate expense reimbursements, ensuring proper classifications and adherence to accounting policies.  
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial transparency and reporting integrity.  

Audit Management And Compliance:

  • Coordinate audit preparation and ensure timely documentation for internal and external auditors.  
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, corporate policies, and risk mitigation frameworks.  
  • Review and approve monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.  

Technology And Automation Enhancements:

  • Lead process automation efforts, optimizing financial close procedures and reporting workflows.  
  • Identify and implement system improvements to enhance accounting efficiency.  

Cross-Functional Leadership And Strategic Initiatives:

  • Partner with department leaders to provide financial insights that shape business strategies.  
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.  
  • Lead special projects, including corporate acquisitions, financial restructuring, and compliance initiatives.  

Additional Duties:

 
Support executive leadership with ad hoc financial requests, analysis, and reporting.  
Handle additional responsibilities as assigned by Management.  

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required.  
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with managerial experience preferred.  
  • Experience in corporate finance, real estate, or critical infrastructure industries is a plus.  
  • Prior exposure to auditing, internal controls, and compliance management preferred.  
  •   Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.  
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.  
  • Proven leadership abilities with the ability to mentor and develop accounting staff.  
  • Experience with SOX compliance and Yardi financial systems preferred but not required.  
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.  
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive results in a dynamic environment.  
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement, capable of influencing financial decisions.  
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.  
  •  Up to 10% travel expected, but may increase over time as the business evolves .
